A Fellow Nomad
A little about me, and my story with Nomad. I’m Wyatt, 25 years old, and for most of my life my feet have been doing some kind of board sport. The sense of adventure and something new always excites me.
I heard about a surf and skate shop coming to Doylestown (Nomad), and thought “I can buy surf wax without driving 2 hours?”. I began bothering Chris as much as I could for a job and after a while I began working at Nomad, going to events, and getting closer with everyone. Before I knew it, the community Chris built and the things Nomad stands for gave me the same feeling as when my feet are on a board. Not a lot does that.
Then my car finally broke down, and I decided to buy a van. I have always wanted to do this since I was younger. I built out my van with a couple of things in mind; simplicity, functionality, and comfortability. I have solar power and a good fridge, after that it’s about as simple as it can get. The process was long, frustrating, and invigorating. I had never taken on a project like this so, I can say I proudly pushed through and I’m stoked with the result.
As of now I’m somewhere out on the road in this thing, gathering and soaking in as much as I can about life, people, nature, myself, and whatever else comes my way.
The pictures below are of the build, sometimes mid adventure. Chris painted a panel of the van for me as well, it’s insane. See you out there!
